Sculpture Beach Morning, Point Reyes National Seas

A beautiful morning today. I also am including a backblip from yesterday.

And yes, just for fun, here is a Point Reyes poem.

PANTHEONS ON THE BEACH Copyright 2011 Paul Belz

What if the pelicans' goddess is truth?
They dance to her when they streak over waves.
Rising and falling, they sing for their Lady
who guides their plunges for fish.

Maybe the beach hoppers Lord exists.
He covers their sand with algae feasts,
and warns them hikers are coming
so they can leap forward and away
to escape from blind feet.

Black tailed deer who wander to the coast,
nibbling its grass might feel satsori,
real grace when they face the ocean.

Does the moon jellies' God call them home
when they give their lives so their kids get the food?
They throw their exhausted little forms
up on the beach in clear spotless piles.
Do they find salvation and peace?

Do deities thrive on Sculpture Beach
where rain and wind slash the cliffs
forming sandstone guardians?

Turkey vultures cleanse the world.
Who blessed them with this sacred duty,
the work of recycling the dead?
They draw circle prayers in the sky
to honor their One.

What is truth?
