London street art
It was incredibly hot today. I must have picked the two hottest days to visit London :) AS such I wouldn't mind but walking around all day long in this heat, not to mention how unbearable the tube gets in weather like this ...
Had a good day though, so I won't complain! After I managed to wake myself up with enough coffee this morning I headed to Shoreditch and Hackney. Just walked around for a while, spotted some interesting things. As I felt dehydrated and too hot to walk around any longer I stopped at Old Shoreditch. A lovely bar/café located in the Old Shoreditch Station.
Then continued onwards via Hoxton Square and Old Street before heading into the centre to check out a couple of shops.
One thing I noticed and that really stuck out, so many more people seem to ride bikes in London. I don't recall seeing anyone except mad bike couriers when I used to live here about 8 years ago. There are even cycling paths ... not that they seem to be of a lot of use as they're mainly seen as an extended car park but it's a nice to see that Londoners have seemed to finally discovered the bicycles as a means of transport. Although I am not sure I would be mad enough to cycle through London considering the narrow streets filled with slightly vicious bus as well as taxi drivers.
Tonight I met up with a friend of mine who moved to London about a year ago. It was nice catching up now that I've made it to London eventually!
