Newgrange
We finally got out of the city today and got to see some of the Ireland that I think of when I think of Ireland: green land, cows, and sheep everywhere. We traveled to Newgrange to see the site there which was more interesting than I thought it would be. I still can't wrap my mind behind how this was built thousands and thousands of years and is still standing because when it gets down to it, it's a bunch of stones and rocks stacked on top of each other in perfect standing. They don't even shift or let rain through. It's really mind-blowing. This is most of the class in front of Newgrange.
After Newgrange, our tour guide took us to a small town called Tara that offered really pretty views of the Irish countryside.
When we got back, we went to dinner at a restaurant called ThunderRoad. An American style restaurant owned by an Irish man that was based off of the Hard Rock Cafe. It was really fun to eat there! We ran into a bachelor party (what do they call those in Ireland) and it was rather amusing. Those drunken men kept doing silly things.
After dinner we went back to the Temple Bar for another fun night of music out.
