Deep in the Garden

There are lots of volunteers in my vegetable garden this year. I probably did not do a great job of composting. I am not sure what this is going to be. It might be a cucumber or a pumpkin but I suspect it's a baby watermelon. Today I found a the first female flower (the one with the round fruit at the bottom.) I used a Q-tip to pollinate it from one of the several male flowers that have already appeared. In a week or two I should be able to harvest whatever this is! I'll let you know.
