Demolition Man

This is the old B.P. building in Dyce, Aberdeen. As you can see it is being demolished as the company moved into new, purpose built premises last year. I may Blip their new offices at some point as it is a nice building.
The company have had their headquarters in the city since the early 70's. When they were given planning permission to build their offices when they first came here, they had to be built in such a way that if they vacated the premises, it could be easily converted into a hotel or hospital. Such was the pessimism at the time, with a well uttered phrase, typically cynical North East, " Aye, fit will ye dee fan the ayel rins oot? " (What will you do when the oil runs out?)
