Perfect Winter Dinner...

...only this is June here, and it's raining hard enough that I had to go out and stir up the leaves in the gutter so the water could flow easily down the street. It just does not rain in the summer on the California coast, and we are all confused and murmuring. Take solace in potato-sorrel soup and popovers--nice to have the oven going, and we've got a fire in the woodstove too. At least I'm not a tomato plant shivering out there in the storm.
