We went to do some shopping in Beverungen and I suggested to go to Blankenau not far from there. A very quiet village high up along the Weser.
One small white church, a huge "Fachwerkhaus" that is under renovation, a "Weserblickhotel". We went the path to the Weser and from there discovered the discarded railway, ranked by shrubs and flowers. Thyme abundant and the white butterflies ("koolwitjes") liked it very much and so did I.
