A Favorite Visitor

I was sitting on my bench, waiting for my meeting to start, when a welcome visitor dropped by. I LOVE the first swallowtails--this one is the early bird variety: Anise Swallowtail (Papilio zelicaon). They fly so gracefully; they are easy to spot; and many times are very cooperative to photograph! This one was so brilliant--she probably emerged today! I love the blue shimmering scales on the hindwing, and the orange spot is just elegant! When I go to heaven I want to work in the butterfly-creating room!
