Independence Day on the way?
I know we're 4 days away from the 4th July....but sat on the bus coming back from Teddington, where Seamus and I had sampled a nice Costa Coffee watching the world go by in comparative brightness, when we were suddenly struck into darkness.
"B'Jeepers!", says Seamus...."...who's switched da' lights owt so day have?".
It was a good question! It looked like a scene from Independence Day. I looked around, couldn't see Jeff Goldblum. Checked back on the sky at mid distance. We could see the clouds churning around like a bad curry in your stomach.
Really not sure what is happening with the English weather nowadays...if you see Sunday's blue skies, then two days ago - hailstones the size of elephants! - no exaggeration!. OK, a little. Alright, total, but they were big!
Today - the Alien invasion looks to be coming. Just 4 days time we can expect to see those mother ships burst through the clouds, hover over our mobile phone telemasts everywhere and send a gazillion volts down through into our earth causing a simultaneous spontaneous combustive explosion, 10 miles in circumference of touch down, wiping out everything in their path within milliseconds!
Fortunately, my house is slap bang in-between three local telemasts, which is bad for mobile phone signal, we get none, but good for Alien invasions. I comfort Seamus with this redeeming fact which he countered by pointing out that we wouldn't be able to let people know we were safe at home being in the middle of the masts. I reminded him they will have just been blown up anyway. "So day will!" he sighed.
I managed to catch his reflection looking out of the window at these skies as they darkened (believe it or not, this was only 2pm!!) and convinced he saw something, I found him just 5 minutes ago hiding under his duvet. I told him was safe for another 4 days.
PS - Thanks to DawnCHS for reminding me that I meant to tell you that the only processing here was to brighten 2 stops as I happened to have an ND2 filter on at the time of taking, so in Camera, it was even darker!
PPS - I know it's small fry to some of you guys out there, but I've just hit 20,000 views, so thanks to everyone who have been stopping by. I'll try to make things more interesting going forward!
