Strike!

Plenty of photo opps at today's public sector workers demo. The NUT estimated that there were 5,000 on the march here.

I was sorely tempted to post a shot of Liverpool Socialist Choir belting out 'The Internationale' but, in the end, the understatement of this placard amused me too much to ignore.

When I checked earlier, a poll in the local press suggested that 82% of respondents support the public sector workers' strike to protect their pensions. Whether this cuts any ice with the government is another matter of course...

Am off to visit my mum for the weekend and will back-blip upon my return.
