Yorkshire - Home of the Aubergine!

As a Yorkshireman I am immensely proud of the achievements of my home county. I am particularly enamoured with the famous Rhubarb Triangle, the most prolific rhubarb growing region of The British Isles. But today in Sainsburys I saw these aubergines.

"Why" thought I "do these aubergines have a UK flag on the lining to their box? The next thing you'll be telling me is that we grow them in England! Ha!"

So I looked at the labels and the box a little closer. And knock me down with a hairy herring it was true. UK Aubergines Grown In Yorkshire!

Last time I was in Yorkshire no-one even knew what an aubergine was!
