Heading home
Left London this morning. Flew to Munich first where I had to catch a connecting flight to Hanover. Unfortunately we left London a little late due to a lot of traffic in Munich. When we finally arrived I only had a few minutes to catch my 2nd flight. So while I was dashing through the terminal in order to make my flight, my suitcase wasn't quite as lucky. Obviously I only found out about it once I waited for it in Hanover. Ah well ... I guess there is a first for everything. Thankfully the guys at the Lufthansa lost baggage office already knew about it and told me they would forward it to Dresden asap.
On the way back to Dresden I stopped at my dad's house as due to my leaving early on Saturday morning there wasn't much time to catch up. Just before I arrived I really had the urge to take a photo of the scenery. Maybe not so impressive by all means but occasionally I do get the sense of "coming home" especially if this is combined with a very distinct earthy smell (the area is known for it's dark soil which is incredibly fertile).
Once I arrived in Dresden I met up with R and his family in a beergarden down by the river. A nice way to chill out after a day of travelling.
