BethaBlip 54...
This is my monthly track of my children as they grow to see how they change as time goes by. I take the same photo in the same place each 1st and 15th of each month along with a wee diary of what has happened and how life has progressed for each of them. Bethany on the 1st and Ewan on the 15th. It is quite remarkable and is accentuated by the 1 year ago thumbnail down in the bottom right.
Well this month Bethany turns five. For her birthday, we got her a bike with proper working brakes and a seat for teddy bears. She's fair away with it and her granny got her a bell, seat cover, basket and water bottle to bling it out with. She took the handlebar tassles from her old bike to put on her new bike. I was a bit dubious about it when she tried it out as it is just slightly bigger than I suppose is ideal but she can start herself with it and has the bonus of brakes that work. I believe the skirt is a birthday present from CousinCousinCassie.
We held her birthday party at the Crooked Glen Brewers Fayre up at Dulloch park which has a large softplay area and deal with food, cake and party games. It was great fun and best of all, at the end, we just went home and relaxed. No big house tidy to do. The grannys, grannys, uncles and aunties came round at the weekend and so ensued another day of celebrating.
Aside from the birthday, Bethany's ballet school end of term show was this month. It was a version of Peter Pan in which Bethany did 4 dances including a tap dance section. It was held at the Carnegie Hall in Dunfermline and was 4 shows over 2 days. She danced in every showing and loved it. Getting a wee wave from the stage when she spotted me in the audience was most definitely the highlight.
Other theatrical activities were carried out at nursery when she participated in the end of term summer show. We've been getting brilliant renditions of Mr Sunshine and Have you got a Sunshine smile in the run up.
An odd development which I'm sure every toddler goes through is some rather funny and odd made up songs. She makes up random words and sings them to random tunes. Bing, ginkky, jollpooty beeboo......... That sort of thing. In fact, she was knocking one of these songs out as I took this picture.
The other day, Bethany also did something I've never seen her do before. She was n the bath herself (Ewan was sick and sleeping) and she was just holding her nose and purposely putting her face under the water. She's never been bold enough to try that sort of thing.
