Looking Out
This was a day of two halves : the first was a necessary post holiday supermarket shopping excursion, when it seemed much more desirable to be sitting looking out on the bucolic scene of the meadows uncluttered by humans and unsullied with litter, and fresh under a cloudless blue sky, and the second half when I did sit out on the patio, with fellow blipper Gillipaw and talk shop while watching the clouds and crowds gathering, obscuring the beautiful blueness of the sky and all the available grass outside the railings.
I was extremely honoured that Gillipaw gave up her chance of an audience with her Majesty at Holyrood to pay me a visit. She was rewarded with a front row view of a pee -er of the realm, marking his territory very visibly right in front of our eyes.
Do these random urinators have no shame? We were hardly invisible as we sat and sipped our non alcoholic drinks, but that didn't seem to deter him in his quest for a comfort stop.
Had I been braver I should have blipped him for the rest of you to enjoy the spectacle where nothing was left to the imagination.
Gillipaw has now gone but has left some oatcakes for D77 in the hope that he will come home for a holiday and collect them.
Their sell by date is October, and if they are not claimed by then, they're MINE.
She also left me a tartan pen from the Scottish parliament - Pàrlamaid na h-Alba.
Thank you Gillipaw for your company and the pen.
