New Shoes Part Deux

H and I went to Bookbug in the morning - it was the first time we had been for a couple of months due to holidays/weddings etc so I was looking forward to it. Shame it was the school holidays though as it was overrun by older siblings and there wasn't much room for the younger ones.

I had hoped to go straight to the shoe shop to try and get H's feet measured, but as she appeared a bit tired, I decided not to chance it. After lunch and a nap, we duly headed to The Fort to get new shoes from Clarks. Oh my god - another meltdown. She has got herself worked up to being scared of this experience. The poor sales girl didn't even come near her with the evil shoe measurer and H was looking at her like she was the devil! I eventually got a size 5F onto her feet and the girl managed to squash her toe and declare that a 5.5F might be more suitable. So I was given every 5.5F in the shop and left to it. Once I had decided on the purple pair in the picture, I daren't remove them and we left the shop wearing them - straight to the toy shop due to the bribary offers I was dishing out.

I have agreed that the next time we go for shoes, we will ensure that it's the poor sales girl's day off!

A watering can and a Waybuloo book later, we visited H's Gran and Papa and she enjoyed running around in the garden chasing bubbles with her Gran. Then it was home to water the flowers and make puddles to jump in (wellies on, new shoes off!)
