Man Power

Today our slate worktop finally came for round the sink. It looks amazing. In fact it is too nice to drain dishes on!! The place we got it from said it weighed 200kg. In reality I think it was probably a lot less but it still took 4 blokes to lift it into position!

Feeling exhausted today. Toby has not slept well all week due to teething and I have been awake worrying about Lime and the sponsored ride we were going to do next week in memory of Henry - 120 miles of the pennine bridleway. Lime has been lame on and off for the past 6 weeks. He's never been lame in the three years I've had him, other than maybe overnight once or twice - so it really is just sods law that I have this big event planned and he goes lame.

Been putting off postponing it hoping that he would just come right this week. Trouble is he is not hopping lame and sometimes he looks okay - other times just a bit awkward so it has been a hard decision to make as if it is just musclar then working him through it with a bit of bute should help. In the end I decided that the only person to make the decision was a vet, who, after doing a nerve block on his lower leg, was unable to say what is wrong ( as I suspected). So he is on bute and field rest for the next 10 days and if after that he still isn't sound he will have to go into the vets for nerve blocks right up his leg till we can find out where it is hurting. I still think it is muscle pain in his shoulder due to a wonky trim 6 weeks ago and now I have got a good farrier and he is all level again his muscles just feel a bit sore. But until I know what it is I can't entertain doing 20 miles + a day on him. So we are looking at doing it in Sept now. Feel really sad and disappointed but I have to be sensible and put Lime first.
