A guilty conversation
"Oh. Hi. It's you."
"Er, yeah. Just seeing how you are, making sure you're OK. Hey, it's practice night tonight, remember?"
"How could I forget? About the only time I see you these days. You never take me out any more. When was the last time you ran your fingers up and down my neck just because it felt good?"
"I know, I know. But I've been busy, and..."
"And last week you promised the others you'd get that song right. You know, the one you're faking it on. And it's not the first time you've promised that, is it?"
I know, I say. Next week will be different, I say. But deep down, we both know it's a lie.
