Sunday: Dawn
A slight change of tack today - instead of going out for a wander after midnight, I decided to go for a little dawn stroll instead. I actually got much more out of it. I went out at 0500 in the morning which, when on nightshift, is the worst time, and the time that you really need a slap round the face with a wet fish to get you going again.
I was amazed at how many revellers there were out and about. But worse than that - pigeons! There were so many pigeons around! I walked round a corner and I swear there must have been about 100 of the blighters just staring at me silently with their blinky black eyes! I felt like Tippi Hedren!
On another note, my colleague, Penfold, and I have decided that we would like to become Olympic hopefuls in the field of gymnastics. At least I tried to work on my bendiness by prancing around the room, but Penfold just sat on the sidelines giving me instructions. I am doubting her commitment.
This is from the bridge at Embankment, looking up river.
