I'd seen these signs before, and had assumed they were some kind of promotion for one of the endless new housing developments around here.

It turns out they're part of this, a walking tour where you can hear stories about the locations, by keying in a number on your mobile phone. So you get an interesting stroll with a little bit of oral history thrown in.

Sounds good to me.
