Lone Pansy

I spotted this little chap when I was mowing the lawn yesterday and just managed to avoid chopping his head off.

This is a lone pansy, growing at the edge of the lawn with no leaves or any other heads. Its also not close to any flower beds and is the only pansy we have in the garden.

It looks a little strange and I didn't know it could grow this way, but it is managing just fine at the moment.

I guess the seed must have been transported from elsewhere on the wind or perhaps bird droppings?

The weather is beautiful and I am inside working unfortunately. Boo.
