Icon celebration!

Read in the paper this morning that this GOOD icon celebrates its 50:eth birthday today! I also learned that before being one of the most recognised and used symbols on this planet, it had been born in the shadow of the cold war as the sign for the struggle against the accelerating arms race of the big powers .

A textile designer in London named Gerald Holmton (conscientious objector under the 2:ond world war) created the sign 1958, being inspired by the international system of semaphore signs and it's mode to show the letter N for nuclear and D for disarmament....what do you know!!??

If something is worth celebrating I think it's this icon...at present as burning as ever!

PEACE TO YOU ALL!
