For whom the bell tolls

Every time i passed in front of these bells in Campo San Tomà (a little square of Venice) my attention has been always caught by these lonely bells...up there, in a kind of broken tower, with, it seems, no way to toll!
...and the title of this famous novel of Hemingway came in to my mind all the time!
Maybe one day i'll try to discover more about their history! ...till then...they'll keep fascinating me! .-)
