Dan Bell

I'd mentioned in yesterday's blip that I was off to the Bongo club. It was for a night called synthetic who had booked Dan Bell as a guest DJ. As well as being a bona fide techno legend Dan is also someone who was a supplier back when myself and a couple of friends had a record shop back in the nineties. When we set up Dan worked at Record Time, a distribution company in detroit, who we used to order house and techno records from. After he left there he set up his own company Seventh City.

The last time he played Edinburgh was a night we put on back when we had the record shop on Easter Sunday in 1995. It's scary th think that was sixteen years ago because it really doesn't seem like that.

In addition to Dan playing a couple of guys I know from Edinburgh were dj'ing as well. It was a great night and good to catch up with lots of old faces as well as a few new ones.
