Homer's Heaven

Homer was a star on our trip to Maine. Here he is, after 3 solid days of swimming and playing...still itching to get into the water. We'd swim out quite far and he would follow us...head back to shore, then change his mind and return to join the fun. Another time when we went on a kayak excursion, I looked behind and there he was, doggedly swimming after us! He is so exhausted tonight he actually didn't eat his dinner for several hours, my worried husband hand fed him! He's gotten a lot of deserved praise from friends, family, strangers, and of course, his masters.

This photo is of him at a beach just in the shadow of Mount Katahdin, where we spent a glorious afternoon swimming, picnicing, grilling...enjoying life.

Ahh, Maine. I will miss you so.
