Grannied
"Phew, the granny's off!" is a phrase often heard during our office fussball matches, it's a rare occurence for one team to win 10-0 but at times, when you're say 7-0 down, scoring that solitary goal to make it 7-1 and therefore removing the chance of being grannied is one of the best feelings in the world and often leads to a ressurgence in fortune. Is the phrase 'to be grannied' a Scottish phenomenon or does it reach further - the Czech, Spanish and Indian players in our office now use it as if it's their native tongue.
I found a whole series of short album reviews in my wallet today. Looks like they're from a few weeks ago:
Rural Alberta Advantage - sounds like a poor version of Neutral Milk Hotel
PS I Love You - average
Belong - guid (tune)
Kode 9 & Spaceape - could do with a dub version, spaceape = annoying
Fleet Foxes - guilty pleasure
EMA - over hyped and over polished, bit Cat Power
Gang Gang Dance - bliss
Tim Hecker - <no comment>
Rayographs - have potential, Breeders-ish
Ezekiel Honig - glitchy and minimal, now worth the effort
Dustin O'Halloran - beautiful
Planningtorock - a poppy fever ray
