ok, this is cuckoo spit.

yes, I know its not a polite picture, but I find it fascinating.

The garden is covered in the stuff and today, while I was hanging the washing out I saw my first frog-hopper of the season still partly covered in cuckoo spit. He had managed to jump onto a towel, so I gently put him down somewhere he'd be safe

I havent a clue what they are really called...but they're little green triangular shaped beetle type things that ping off a leaf if you go near them.

I suppose this isnt a picture a lot of people would take, but its a regular part of the garden, so why not :)
