''The older I grow the more earnestly
I feel that the few joys of childhood are the best that life has to give.''

Well what a day! First L woke me up at about 6.20 so I could pack while lazy L stayed in bed. I didn't care too much though waking up with L makes everything seem better. I hate packing and it was all a little bit stressful. L went to the nonstop (that stops - corner shop) for breakfast, pogacsa (cheese scones), thank you! Then I went to school to finish some paper work and left L to sweep the floors again! Went to school and wanted to blip the tanari (staff room) but had left camera and ibob (ipod) at home. It looked so empty with most desks cleared for the summer. Saw FE, Etelka and one of the nice cleaning ladies (note to self, learn more names!) and had a nice chat.
Went home made sure everything was unplugged and that the flat was tidy. L took my bicycle up 4 flights of stairs, thank you! Although he didn't do the washing up so minus one good boyfriend point! We got a taxi to the bus station, I always feel posh when I get a taxi!
On the bus I decided today's blip would be a picture from our seat at the back of bus 'the leaving Bonyhad blip' so I took a photo. But then there were beautiful fields of thousands of sunflowers, so I took 'the sunflower part 2 blip'. As we drove into Kakasd I decided finally to get a photo of the interesting church in the village. As you can see none of these photos made it on to today's blip. I have to say though the bus journey was a lot more enjoyable with L for company.
From Paks L's cousin gave us a very fast lift to L?s house, the boy does drive quickly! Once we got home it was a case of dumping the bags and cycling to L?s grandparents for lunch. There we helped his Grandmother do some baking and got some lunch. Back home to collect the car and off to his cousin to fit the new exhaust. While L pretended to be a mechanic I played with the baby who isn?t so much of a baby nowadays. She was incredibly confident and even though it's the 3rd time we've met she took me straightaway to see a frog. We played with a ball, her amazing electric tractor, bubbles and brooms. She's a lovely, smiley and giggly girl who by the end of the visit was getting me to pick her up. L?s uncle took me to pick fruit from their garden, cherries, peaches, nectarines, apples, plums, pears, hazelnuts, walnuts...I want their Garden!!!
In the evening we joined the OAP club for fish soup. I was a little nervous about going but it turned out to be a fantastic evening. It was in L?s old primary school. It stopped being a school a few months ago as they built a new one in the village. The soup was great and all of the OAPs were chatting away and having a great evening. We had wine, lots of different homemade wines that were delicious. L tried to explain the differences between them all but I struggled a little with that. After soup it was time for cake, everybody had bought some cakes with them to share around. We ate in L's old classroom which is where I took the photo. L and his classmates painted this when he was at school and it?s still there. They painted it because the school couldn?t afford a map. Walking around the school was a strange experience, there were lots of things that had just been left when the school moved out, desks, drawings, old picture slides... L told me some stories too.
He used to have breakfast at the school at an L shaped table in the hallway. One morning he drank his milk and then dropped the glass, it bounced 5 times but then smashed all over the floor.
His Granddad used to drive to the apple orchard in his tractor past the classroom window (he sat next to the window rows from the front) and sometimes used to wave. He told me this because while we were eating an identical tractor went past.
While we were eating I noticed the parquet floor had some holes in. While L thought it was probably because they were rotten I had a much more imaginative opinion. I decided that a boy sat in this classroom decided to escape by digging a hole (Shawshank Redemption style) with his compass. Even after a few years he hadn't gotten very far!
After we helped his Grandparents carry everything home we went for a bike ride to see the storks. I?m still shocked by their size and they looked quite menacing as the one on the nest watched me as I took photos. L spotted the other adult on a chimney opposite the nest. The sun setting over the graveyard was beautiful and L is still obsessed by the number of frogs everywhere!
I forgot L's grandmother told us off for talking too much during dinner. After the last few days this was perfect being together again
This isn't the most artistic photo of the day but it is a great memory of a great day for me.
L has just made me come back and edit this as we've just finished watching old videos of him and A when they were wee. My personal highlight was L playing the same song twice on the piano on 2 different occasions. I'm most disappointed you couldn't see him in his Mexican outfit although I have been assured there is photographic evidence. Now it's time for a shower and then going to sleep with L :D
