Printing Adventures

This evening I spent the night with the daughter of chaos.

I recently purchased an Epson R2400 photo printer. The daughter of chaos wanted to print some enlargements as a gift for a friend. The friend's birthday is tomorrow.

"OK" I said. "No problem."

So we proceeded to print some test images... "hmmmm... the printed images don't look like the images on the computer screen."

I realized tonight how very difficult it turned out to be to get the LCD monitor calibrated and coordinated with Photoshop CS3 v10.1 with Mac OS X v10.4.11 with ColorSync with the Epson R2400 print output with the printer paper .ipc drivers with the workspace color profile with the document color profile with the rendering intent and black point compensation and with whatever other thing had to be just right.

Anyway, it worked. The daughter of chaos was quite happy with the huge prints of Alley.

So it was a difficult time, but time well spent. It's late now but the birthday party tomorrow should be a big success.

Good night all! Have a great weekend!
