festivity

5/365
Here is my version of the cliche fourth of July fireworks shot. My backyard is the NYC skyline, so Stephen and I joined the thousands of spectators to watch our view of the Macy's fireworks. I love that our country has this independence day tradition.

Normally, we are all on our separate paths living our own separate lives. However, on July fourth people gather into their family units for barbecues and then into throngs at night for fireworks. Everyone tonight was unified and fascinated together. This annual festivity is one of the few times since there was one single television per household when we all agree for a full thirty minutes to watch the same show on the same channel. This show transcends language, age, interest, political and moral standpoints; you name it.

God bless America.
