Swimming Over

The full extent of the weekend's spectacular rainfall is still hitting home. Although no contender for the disaster of the year award, it has been surprisingly harsh and close to home. At work a colleague was talking about his cellar being 30cm deep in water and our local supermarket was just on the national news reporting it's lose of some £150,000 of stock (have some sympathy - many supermarkets are franchises, as ours is).

Then, what we have here. This is a free swimming area complete with lifeguards that is just behind our local shopping centre (about 5 mins by bike). Unfortunately the flooding has caused the drains to over flow, so swimming is not allowed for a week or two. However the lifeguard's work contracts are for the whole summer - they looked bored.

For the record I'm trying to find a consistant style and subject along the lines of; city, relaxed, arty and interesting for a series of 5 pics for a busy canteen of colleagues who will let me know what they think..... one way or the other.
