Topiary sundial

The topiary sundial is part of the garden of Ascott House, near Wing in Buckinghamshire. The inner circle of topiary are Latin numerals and the outer circle of clipped yew says "Light and shade by turn, but love always".
The house itself was built in the reign of James 1st and bought in 1873 by Baron Mayer de Rothschild - no less!
There is an extensive range of topiary in the garden, not usually my favourite kind of garden but this is really impressive and quite beautiful in it's own way.
