Fire

Just taking our wheelie bin up the lane for tomorrow's collection and smelt that wonderful smell which brought back childhood memories. Sorry I can't blip the smell which turned out to be just a fire somebody had lit in one of the gardens backing onto the little wood along our lane. One of our favourite "gang" activities, in those lovely pre-TV days, was "swealing" or setting fire to the grass in a rough piece of nearby wasteland. Nowadays "gang" conjures up a different image than our innocent fun. And nowadays the neighbours would probably have rung the police. And the particular piece of wasteland I have in mind has been replaced with a new road ? the A56.
