This is my friend Andrew's diagram explaining how the solar panels on his house work.
One of the best in a full evening of diagrams on a battered lined notebook.
On the left is the square panel and the energy passes through the inductor, the meter, another meter going out of the house and then onto the national grid.
Unless of course they decide they need to use energy in the house, represented in the centre top by Ann-Michelle putting the washing machine on ;-)
I was fascinated by how the money works, which if you look closely you can see at the various points (+46p being produced by the panel, -12p when they have to use electricity direct from the grid).
Such a clear, simple and elegant explanation. Andrew should be on the telly. Well sometimes he is! :-)
