Old Toys

Jack and Charlie have had this old toy garage for a long time and when they acquired it, it was second hand. I tried to give it away the other day, it had been on top of the wardrobe and I thought it had done its time in the Gray family, but Jack being Jack wouldn't let me - he will be a hoarder when he's older! Today they played with it for a while before they had some friends over for a playdate.

It has been a good day today all in all, more bike riding without stabilisers this morning - whilst Charlie scooted around like a madman, friends round who stayed for lunch and then a late afternoon knock about at the tennis courts. We went to play tennis at 4.30pm and it was still absolutely sweltering, it was about 35 degrees and high humidity, not good tennis weather with hindsight but I thought we could do with a break from the pool - the pool is great but with 2 active boys I sometimes feel like an over anxious lifeguard, how do the other parents sitting around on loungers do it? Every now and again I have a little sit on a lounger but its far from relaxing let me tell you, so I just jump in with them and bark strict instructions not to go out of their depth!!!

Maybe I'll get to be a parent on a sun lounger next year!!!
