I'll have a sprite!

Staines has an outdoor shopping complex called Two Rivers. Considering what Staines used to be like it's actually become half decent. No longer "the Staines you dare not talk about!". (You need to be a certain age to get that reference!).

So, having got two rivers what could be more apt for a statue than two river sprites, which have apparently just emerged from the water.

Actually, I quite like this statue and it's weathering nicely with it's sheen of verdigris. Due to the sculpting, although there is a representaton of water running from their bodies, it is beginning to look as though they are wearing strapless evening dresses.

So, should you ever find yourself in Staines, don't panic, it's probably better than you think.
