amusing muso...

I won't lie to you....after last Wednesday's day from hellshenanigans, I really wasn't looking forward to today. I admit it, I was kind of hoping for a bit of a rainy, horrible day so that I didn't have to suffer 'sunshine guilt' and feel pressured into doing something away from home with my convoy of stuff / children.

Thankfully (sorry for all of you wanting a bit more sun) - I got the weather I wanted and strangely enough it made me get up, get my *crap together and get out of the house! Okay, it was only the library, but so what? It's at least a 15 minute trundle with the pram/millions of kids and it was RAINING. I was pretty sure it was one of those Rhyme Time sessions but turns out they don't happen during the school holidays so it was just the library.

I lost Arlo for a wee while and when I found him he was sitting on a comfy seat totally engrossed in a copy of the NME! I have no idea what he was actually doing, but it made me roar with laughter anyway. He peered over the top of it and said 'WOOK Mummy! Guitars!'.

After lunch we watched his new Dinosaur DVD (I am loving his fixation with dinosaurs, it's really fascinating. Much more interesting than cars and trains and diggers. In my opinion, obviously) and then we took a trip over to the park. It had completey stopped raining by this point so I chucked Ida in the sling and Arlo and I went over in our flipflops and crocs. We met some lovely people (new friends for both of us I think) and then....the rains came! We ran and ran and ran to get under a tree and when the tree stopped offering shelter we had to make a run for it.

Ooft. Soaked. Poor Ida (who slept through the entire escapade) was absolutely dripping - literally, drips plopping off her wee socks. Arlo was delighted though! He was screaming with laughter and roaring like a rained-on-dinosaur (his public dinosaur roaring is actually a bit embarrassing but that's a Blip for another day), splashing through HUGE puddles with his crocs on.

Loved it! And after that Mum came for a visit and all in all, what a brilliant rainy, grey and drizzly day.

Hooray!

*by crap, I (obviously) don't mean my children.
