A Drop of July
Best viewed large
Long day shopping in sunny, warm Exeter, small compact camera really not up to scratch for good shots, I really thought coming home would be sunny too, but torrential rain by Winkleigh - curse! Overtook the most stinky foul long lorry, carrying offal (smelt like it) I had to overtake it, needs must, Cruella De Ville eat your heart out, Emy roared by like a demon... so wanted to be home, so wanted a blip...
Sunshine came out through the rain, went out to catch the rainbow, needed an umbrella, car locked, ran inside to get the keys, found the keys, opened the car, found the umbrella - CURSE the umbrella is broken, why wasn't it thrown away?? Run back into the house, found another umbrella, run back outside almost colliding with a small soggy robin who answers to the name of Larry. Rainbow gone. Typical!
Purple umbrella being held by one hand, heavy Canon with the other, frantically searching for a blip. Always wanted to try out a droplet with new camera, here's my chance, will it work.. curse the ISO, the bad light, up it to 800, grainy, noise, who cares... find something... mallow, borage, grasses.. oh hello hawthorn, don't you look pretty... it worked! Sort of! Phew! (just another example of an emergency blip!)
Thanks for all the comments, stars & hearts for my cows :) Another Spotlight success... I can't do it without you all, thank you SO much xxxx :)
