The calm sea and blue sky days are all but gone. Ominous grey is the future.
I'm not taking about the photo. It's what has been plaguing my mind for months, along with the minds of most of my work colleagues, and vast numbers of people elsewhere. Cutbacks and restructures. Not our first. We've had numerous over the years, but this time things are really bad. Those folk that have made vast fortunes playing their tricks with the money market, probably don't care what they've done to wreck the lives of so many people. They've just been in pursuit of their greed, and undoubtedly still are.
My employers are attempting to avoid compulsory redundancies, for whatever motive... it's suspected that the truth is not what we're being spun. Large numbers of staff area being given the opportunity to apply for a limited number of posts in the new structure. The reduced number of posts all carry a reduction in responsibility... and we've yet to be informed of what the pay will be.
The future is bleak.
