Vintage car in Sitges
Despite the late night we were up and about at a reasonable hour and headed off exploring Sitges. A vintage-car rally had taken place over the weekend, finishing here yesterday afternoon. The cars were still very much in evidence, and made a wonderful sight in the bright sunshine. Our hosts joined us later on and brought us around the old town, which turned out to be a really nice spot, full of old buildings and oozing with character. I'd expected Sitges to be full of bars and clubs and restaurants and swarms of noisy tourists, so the peaceful character of the buildings and the narrow streets around the church came as a very pleasant surprise.
We walked on around the headland to Sant Sebastia for lunch, and then it was time to fit in some visits to bars we'd somehow missed last night and to take advantage of their happy-hour offers. The lads were due to catch the 10.00 pm flight to Dublin, so we parted company at the railway station around 7.00 pm. We got off the train at Liceu, halfway along the Ramblas, and spent some time around El Raval, settling in a really nice little bar to end the night.
