My Turn

I had conveniently forgotten how much chaos can be generated by two almost 3 year olds and a baby of 6 months living under the one roof.
Fortunately this time it wasn't the Dower House roof but under that of Glasgow daughter who is currently entertaining Shipley daughter and family.

Apparently the chief instigator of much of this bedlam is Glasgow granddaughter Nina aged 2 years and10 months, a party girl of wondrous application ( taking after her paternal grandmother, not I, I have been told) who has been keeping the whole house awake till late with her youthful spirits and highjinks..

Because she loves having a houseful of people, she has avoided falling asleep until 11:30 at night, less she misses something, by which time everyone else has gone to bed.

Thus it was, when I travelled through to the west to meet the grandchildren today, I was introduced into a household on the brink of collapse with sleep deprived adults and fractious children.

It was such a beautiful day in Glasgow too, with sunshine and warmth, and the toddlers in hyper mode for the moment, were happy to bounce to exhaustion on the trampoline in the garden while I hung out washing in the hope that the showers predicted didn't materialise.

But on the way back to Edinburgh, the heavens opened, and as I write there are bolts of lightening and thunder cracking loudly round the house with stair rods of rain bouncing 6 inches off the patio.

I hope the thundershowers don't travel through to Glasgow before that washing so artistically pegged out, is brought in: there is nothing worse than having washing which is wetter than when it went out.

I spent a lot of time blipping children bouncing, but I decided to post the blip of Glasgow daughter, who couldn't resist the chance of a turn, and who, she would like you to know, is not as young as she looks.
