What a day!!!!

It was a typical morning....I woke up bleary eyed from working the swing shift last night, Jack was up full of energy and my husband was giving me a kiss as he walked out the door to head to work. Everything seemed normal...just a typical morning.

Until I walked into the kitchen to make some coffee....

Sitting on the counter was a new camera sling bag with a note on it that said, "For your new career" and a heart drawn on it. I was so excited, I could use a new camera bag, mine was a bit tight. Then Jack said, "Maybe you should look inside Momma!" When I lifted the bag, it was heavy...so I figured Mark had put my camera in already. Boy, was I wrong!!!! A brand new Canon 7D camera AND a new Canon 50mm 1.4 lens to go with it!!!!

Of course, I have a lot to learn! I am still working on figuring out the basics in general, but now I have to learn a whole new camera, and there are a lot more buttons and controls on this one! So bear with me....I've got a ways to go.

I charged the batteries and took a couple of shots of the black-eyed susans that Jack had picked for me the other day, just to get a feel of it. So, a simple shot today...I've got to work on the focusing...but the DOF is awesome!

So, an early birthday (November) and Christmas present and quite a surprise...especially in JULY!
