an early w2?!

I was pleasantly surprised this morning by the sight of my W2 form under my mousepad. Usually, the boss gets around to preparing them and handing them out at the very last possible moment. So seeing it a whole two days early was sorta like witnessing a Christmas miracle. I'm sure some accountant angel somewhere up there got his wings today.

The urge to buy a Mac has been rising lately, and I can't help but mentally set aside this year's tax return for a new MacBook Pro. Especially with Leopard coming out in the spring... and all the shexy developer-friendly features it'll bring... it just makes me want to belt out and sing... *sigh*

MacBook Pros, unfortunately, are still rather expensive. And there's no way my tax return will even cover half of the cost of a 15". And I'm always reminded of all the disparaging things I used to say about buying overpriced things. And I'm always reminded about all the other things I could be spending $2500 on... like a two-week vacation overseas. Or a really, really nice, long cruise. Or a full-frame DSLR... mmmmmm...

The arguments for buying one, though, have been increasing. The largest one in particular is my dream of creating a cool, useful Mac app that someone finds cool and useful enough to plonk down $15 to buy a copy. That would be awesome.
