Boscastle is a village which lies within the parish of Forrabury and Minster on the North Cornish Coast 14 miles south from Bude and 5 miles from Tintagel. This beautiful location is also used for filming productions such as Doc Martin and Saving Grace.
On 16 August 2004, the village suffered extensive damage after flash floods caused by an exceptional amount of rain that fell over eight hours that afternoon. The flood in Boscastle was filmed and extensively reported. The floods were the worst in local memory, and due to the remnants of Hurricane Alex (2004).
