Looking Up
I am lying down in my bed shooting up at what I see. Arbutus, Doug Fir, Cedar, the big dipper at night. I thought this was fitting since in my "recovery from the family" time here I have indulged myself with 2 lazy mornings. H says that?s all I get. OK, fine. But I sure enjoyed not having to get up, being brought breakfast, and then a latte, and reading. Our bed, on the 2nd floor/loft of the cabin, is right under this skylight/window - it is my very favorite place of any to read as the light is perfect (even now I can read without a light til almost 10PM) Yesterday the sky was totally monotone grey, but today it was blue, so I had to blip it. I do confess that I took this a little later (after I was up! maybe 9:30....) because I liked the clouds that had appeared - and I waited for a big raptor to float overhead, but none obliged. Anyway, I guess it's a photo of shapes and reflections - a bit ambiguous to figure out exactly but it will remind me of one of the reasons I love it here.
Btw, the book for 2 mornings was Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins, left by my daughter-in-law - it's another "cult" young adult series she gets hooked on. She also gave me her Twilight series but I couldn't manage more than 2, the writing was so bad, even tho it's set locally. I think this one was better written, about a future world that has amazing similarities to the present. I'm looking forward to book 2. :-) !
