Between the showers . . .
Ollie, Lucas and I went for a walk down to the beach and hunted for interesting bits and pieces, shells, bits of coloured glass and curiously shaped stones.
The tide was well out, and down at low water, amongst the seaweed, the dogs suddenly got very excited. Ollie mostly "hunts" by sight, but Lucas is a real "nose" dog and was following a scent through the rocks and the weed with Ollie close behind him. I know there are otters in the area, and am pretty sure that is what they could smell. Spoke to a chap later on who said he'd seen fresh otter spraint (dung) on the beach short ago. Fingers crossed that one day we see one - but probably not with a dog or two in tow!
In the evening we did a bit more to the extension and then settled down to demolish a summer pudding that had been sitting getting nice and soggy for a day and a half! Delicious - especially with Orkney ice cream!
