looking up

Sometimes we look up when we are thinking. Or when we see a helicopter flying overhead. Or when it starts to rain and we're just about to hang the washing out. Or when someone says something that we think is tedious or daft. Or when someone shouts you from upstairs and even though you can't see them you still do a kind of 'YER WHA?' reply, even if you heard them.

And sometimes I find myself doing it at work, when I'm waiting for the water to trickle through the filter coffee. And when I do I notice simple things like the lines created by the large wooden beam, the kitchen cupboard and the cheap cafe tray that pokes out justatad.
