You're rockin' the boat

We went for a stroll along the bottom edge of Manhattan today. The queue to visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island was very, very long. What I call a Far Queue because it lasts as far as the eye can see. It's also how likely I am to join it.

Anyway, at one point we (and scores of others) watched as the wake from a big, fast vessel, sent the Miss Ellis Island into Titanic mode. The screams were extraordinary - very much like a roller coaster and nothing like a ferry. We were all amazed no-one was turfed off.

We also took the Staten Island ferry across to...well, Staten Island. Had a lovely lunch at the Gavel Grill - I totally recommend the cheese and bacon burger with fries. The only thing they lack is beer - the food is superb.
