The Lodge

Long but lovely drive up to Strichen north of Aberdeen to be at the opening of The Lodge.

Over 15 years the community has bought and developed their local park, including a lovely wee lochan and boathouse. They have now also redeveloped the old lodge house and will run a great cafe from it, along with space to show the history of the area.

From the quality of the food on offer I know this will be the place I will be calling into for lunch or coffee when I am in this area in the future.

Best of all it was great to meet the people who have put all the effort in, especially Hebbie and his father Bert, the local butchers :-)
