Traffic Light Corner
Tody we went to the Grand Prix...
...not the British one at Silverstone...
...the New Milton Pedal Car Grand Prix, a biannual race (the alternate year held in Ringwood, ten miles away) which started at 14.00hrs. Two hours and 60 odd laps later, the very weary "drivers" made it across the finish line.
This was the view from "Traffic Light Corner": the main road through the town, and the other main road into the town were closed all day for this event, which featured a hairpin, chicane, and main straight and back straights (!) with the town show being held on the recreational ground.
There was a good turnout of spectators (and cars, 53 in total), young and old alike, no police presence, and none needed...no one could fail but enjoy watching this palava...adults taking it far too seriously, kids having fun, lots of local shops and the Ringwood Brewery also entered cars; as did the local Honda dealership (their car's wheel fell off and the car had to be carried across the line...hopefully this does not reflect on their road cars!)
