Sunday afternoon in Durham city

This is a quite normal scene on a fine sunday afternoon in summer. It was taken where the river Wear curls around the mound on which stand Durham Cathedral and Castle together with many university buildings.
Today I counted 7 rowing boats, some with families on board and others with couples. A wide range of rowing skills were on display.
